When I was a kid my mom would make sure I had accessories for every holiday, often making them. To this day I still like to wear holiday earrings, pins and hair accessories. As you can see this heart ribbon makes and adorable headband but it can probably be used for so much more, such as, a pin or a Valentine’s day card.
Supplies:
- 3 yards of 3/8″ Wide Ribbon (I used two colors so you will need a yard and a half of each)
- Glue Gun
- Scissors
- Headband
- Felt
Cut two sets of ribbon in the following sizes: 4.4″, 5.5″ and 6.5″
Using a lighter carefully singe the end of the ribbon to stop it from fraying.
Align one set of ribbon so they are flush on one end. Using the glue gun, hot glue the aligned ends together in order, largest to smallest. You should have two sets of three.
Take your two groupings of ribbon and align them in a “V” gluing the right hand set on top of the other as shown above.
Take the smallest ribbon from the left side and folder it over and glue it to the top of the left side like above.
Take the smallest ribbon on the right side fold and weave it over the loop but under the base of the left side like above.
Continue to fold and weave the remaining ribbons. Use the following images to help you along your way:
Cut a small felt heart. Sandwich the headband between the front ribbon heart using the felt piece as a backer and hot glue in place.
